A question regarding the jetways: are these type 1 or 2 jetways? I do prefer the type 1 (defined in an ICAO.jetways.xml file) because they provide much more flexibility for e.g. jetways that connect to multiple stands ( at BIKF that could e.g. be stand 46L, 46 and 46R, if it had jetways). But I see that a lot of recent scenery development inserts the type 2 jetways that have a lot of flaws in my opinion:
- when you click one, they move all
- they cannot deal with multiple stands
- they are often not placed properly, which means they have the right position when unconnected, but don't extend to the right position when an aircraft docks because the stand center line is not aligned with the jetway center line.

If these are type 2 jetways, I 'm totally willing to do some work on the type 1 jetways and provide a suitable BIKF.jetways.xml file.

If my vision is wrong for some reason, please inform me ;)

Kind regards,

Isaak

They are the existing jetways from the default scenery and will be replaced with custom scenery models to simulate the RL jetways.
They may just be static models at this point. I'd like to make them animated gates.

Isaak, You are most welcome to make them functional once the new models are produced.

A few ideas:
a) minimise use of the golf course texture
b) add the Perlan, it's an important landmark near BIRK
c) there's a botanical garden off the start of BIRK runway 31, would be great to see this reflected in the scenery
d) there's a beach next to BIRK runway 01, would also be great to see that in the scenery
e) the pond Tjörnin, the main pond of Reykjavik, is currently farmland

Not had a lot of time for FG lately but BIKF groundnet is slowly progressing.

I may release a preliminary version and tidy it up later when the new layout is finished.

Small update on BIKF: I have updated on Terrasync the ILS 3D models of all the runways from the default one to the much more detailed model used at LOWI and available in the shared airport infrastructure model database. Position remains the same and updates should be visible in the following days. On thing I noted is that on at least a runway the white VOR-DME model overlaps the ILS whereas IRL it's of course slightly off. I haven't had time to fix that but in case someone can do it it would be a fine touch to apply if it hasn't been in consideration yet.

With a fresh FGData, you should now be able to enjoy Katla and Eyjafjallajokull volcanoes (and an AW patch that creates a turbulence field around them when they're active).

Limited time with FG recently, so only briefly tested from UFO (& BIVI). Seems to work great at first glance (based on Etna).

Misc thing: New volcano settings are persistent in UI, but volcanos are inactive after restart. Tested: Katla, Windows nightly. Apologies if it's something I did.

FG's landclass data seems to already classify black sand beaches (ground basalt) as volcanic, and they get a volcanic effect  .

General question: Do you think we should merge this soon into terrasync?
