Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station

Postby Picun_1812 » Wed May 08, 2019 7:32 pm

Hi all.

Today I have doubts about what happens with the Antarctic territory. I have explored some runways that surround the South Pole, which are mostly only small runways in the middle of the sea inside Flightgear. I think the most accurate one is the Marambio base (SAWZ), which belongs to Argentina.

I wonder, in particular, what happens in the pole itself, where the largest research base in Antarctica is located, with a permanent presence and a place where many scientific flights take place every year. I refer to the Amundsen-Scott Station (NZSP).

In the current state of Flightgear, there is absolutely nothing, not even terrain.

Could this be improved and strengthened a bit? It would be great to fly to those places. :)

Probably not - the poles are quite pathological from a terrain tile POV, from a weather tile POV, from nearly every POV.
