Scenery model call

Postby N-SCOT » Mon Apr 22, 2019 12:16 pm

Hi all,

Before I launch into a modeling frenzy, does anyone have scenery models (static) of the following:

F-14
B727
Pogo (yes, I said Pogo)
P-80
Convair Sea Dart

Thx,

G

I did low detail models for the F-14 and B727 see $FGData\AI\Aircraft\727 and $FGData\AI\Aircraft\f-14b

There are quite a lot of models in Models\Geometry AI\Aircraft\ - that you may not have seen before

Off topic, but maybe useful later: Many, many years ago aircraft developers sometimes made two models, one to fly with and one simple AI model. I guess that is a bit what Richard have done now.

If you are on multiplayer and another aircraft pops up FlightGear will first see if you have that aircraft installed and use that. If the full aircraft is not installed it will look for the AI model, an animation XML file with the same name as the one that the full aircraft model would have, and use that. If there neither is an aircraft or an AI model with the right name the default model is used.*

The ones I've added are for the new fallback model way of doing things - which is in essence a more flexible way of doing what we previously could do by having the model in fgdata - but the idea is now that a suitable model will can be chosen by the modeler used when the real one may not be available.
