Tile Index Scheme

Postby Ivan-Pekar » Sun Nov 11, 2018 2:49 pm

Hello,
Can someone please explain to me how to find out the name of the .stg file into which I put 'OBJECT ICAO.btg' on line 2? Do not send me to the wiki, I have seen it already and it makes no sense to me. It does not explain anything explicitly.

Thanks,
Ivan

Here's an easy way.
https://scenery.flightgear.org/map/

Zoom into the area of interest and the proper tile number will be displayed in the lower-left corner.

Once you know the tile number, you can find the folder location by looking at the lat-lon coordinate of the tile's lower-left corner. The folder structures has a resolution of 10 degrees, so from your tile of interest move west and south until you get to a 10-degree boundary.
