Hi Alex,

As far as I can see, none of the generic pylons have xml files. Generally, xml files are only used when the model has animated parts like moving parts or light effects.

Try redoing your exercise with the shared .ac files.

Cheers,

Vic

Thanks Vic

I replaced the xml with ac and all is OK.

However the process for adding models does appear confusing to the beginner.

All seemed to go well with the wind turbines I added (about 40 in total), but I then had a problem with being unable to add any scenery.

So I removed all the software and started again with just Honolulu.

I then switched on terrasync and flew around Northumberland for a bit.

I then switched off terrasync and added the pylons, by first downloading the model (https://scenemodels.flightgear.org/app.php?c=Models&a=view&id=520

I didn't know about the 'L' switch for the UFO at that time

When I added the pylons the UFO only gave me the option of the XML file and that's how I ended up in this position.
