on whatever site that was that you first posted to, i simply right clicked on the image and took its direct URL... that name is what it had on that site... i don't know if it is the name you gave it or not...

the thing about sharing images on hosting sites is that you need the direct URL to the image... not the page the image is wrapped in... so put it somewhere and then right click and copy the image's URL to paste into the bbcode img tags on these forums...

Added new buttons,, even more, are planned.

    [IMPORT STG] button. loads a bucket stg file, the import is working well.
    [UFO] button shows the currently loaded ufo-model-export file into a text editor. A ufo-model-export file must be imported first by enabling th ufo monitor.
    [OBJ] button shows the currently loaded OBJECT_SIGN info into a text editor.
    [DAT] button shows the currently loaded WED exported .dat file or the imported bucket stg info.
    [OBJ->CLIPBRD] copies the current OBJ_SIGN info into clipboard to be pasted into a bucket.stg file using notepad ++. Save and run your edited signs.

I am now on ASE version 0.5.1. Keep in mind its still in beta development. 0.5.x has a better program flow about it, working on the help and locking out issues caused by activating a function when it's not available at that point, certain actions need to happen before it can proceed. eg. setting up preferences to find ufo model export path FlightGear root directory. Thanks, Avionyx, continued working on the help section, learning as I go,. I would like to see a nas file that creates a xml file like Phi Interface, but with just the data, I have so many ideas like Pilot Buddy that talks your way through holding patterns and tower instructions. Neat stuff with the speech dll may even local AI without multiplayer activated and full airport support.

Now on ASE version 0.5.7. Found an issue with linking sync to save. It added text to the end which would of had to be deleted after pasting into the stg file. Fix by linking sync ->save -> load. Add a feature that gives a match percentage of working and ufo data by scrolling through an import stg file. my best results has been locking the airport dat file and importing the ufo model export file. By launching the ufo, finding where I wanted to place the sign after placing the cursor and pressing E, ASE noted the change allowing you import the ufo model export.

I 'm working on the sign match and had to revamp my idea to a matching sign, the distance between WORKING and UFO and flag to denote whether elevation, heading and sign size match. Where I'm stumped is the distance calculation. I get only small numbers. Anyone up to checking my math and leading me to the correct answer?
Code: Select all
'======================================================================='
[calcDistance]
    x1=deg2rad(x1)
    y1=deg2rad(y1)
    x2=deg2rad(x2)
    x2=deg2rad(y2)
    distFactor = (111.699*.001)*2 'meters per degree 111.68 km per degree /1000   ~  2 x meters per rad  degees * pi()
    x1 = x1 * distFactor
    y1 = y1 * distFactor
    x2 = x2 * distFactor
    y2 = y2 * distFactor
'----------------------------'
    X1 = (cos(y1) * sin(x1))
    Y1 = sin(y1)
'----------------------------'
    X2 = (cos(y2) * sin(x2))
    Y2 = sin(y2)
'         distance = sqr((((X1-X2)^2)+((Y1-Y2)^2)))
distance = sqr((((X2-X1)^2)+((Y2-Y1)^2)))
return
'======================================================================='

Thanks EveryOne !! SteveO

Look closer at line 6!
Code: Select all
'======================================================================='
[calcDistance]
    x1=deg2rad(x1)
    y1=deg2rad(y1)
    x2=deg2rad(x2)
    x2=deg2rad(y2) ' <--- this should be   y2 = ...
    distFactor = (111.699*.001)*2 'meters per degree 111.68 km per degree /1000   ~  2 x meters per rad  degees * pi()
    x1 = x1 * distFactor
    y1 = y1 * distFactor
    x2 = x2 * distFactor
    y2 = y2 * distFactor
'----------------------------'
    X1 = (cos(y1) * sin(x1))
    Y1 = sin(y1)
'----------------------------'
    X2 = (cos(y2) * sin(x2))
    Y2 = sin(y2)
'         distance = sqr((((X1-X2)^2)+((Y1-Y2)^2)))
distance = sqr((((X2-X1)^2)+((Y2-Y1)^2)))
return
'======================================================================='

Since I converted to radians a factor of rads360 = 57.28577951 has to apply somewhere.
distFactor = (111.699*.001) part should have been (111.699*1000) but it is per degree.
So ... again, since I'm in radians and the factor only covers 1 degree it must be 57.28577951/360 since 360 degrees = 57.28577951 radians.
Have it working on a spreadsheet 1-degree x (11966 * 1000) x 57.28577951 hmm ....

i agree with WoodSTokk... line 6 is wrong...

Code: Select all
x2=deg2rad(y2)
^
+----- should be y2

Please make absolutely sure, that you work with the correct values!
A full circle has in degree 360 units (named degrees) and in radian 2 × pi units (named radians).
So the correct factor is 360 / (2 × pi) or in short 180 / pi … and that is 57.2957795131 degrees per radian.
Look closer at the values, your fractal part has a failure at position 2.

Don't know what you mean by this.

I think you have confused your self. 360 degrees are 6.28318530718 radians. What you mean is (with the correct value) 57.2957795131 degrees are 1 radian.
