Custom Scenery for part of southern Norway!

Postby D-ECHO » Sun Dec 24, 2017 11:07 am

Hello everybody!
as a little christmas present, here you have a custom scenery for a part of southern Norway, including:
*Oslo
*Sandane
*Sogndal
*Alesund
*Molde
*Kristiansund
*Orsta-Volda, Hovden
*Floroe
*Foerde/Bringeland

This custom scenery includes new airport layouts for most airports, which are from, have been pushed to or will be pushed to the scenery gateway, so they can be incorporated in the next world scenery build. Except Sogndal, all airports now have a pretty decent layout, though/nearly all lack objects (->hint, hint :D)

Oslo scenery is available here: https://github.com/D-ECHO/Oslo
The rest is available here: https://github.com/D-ECHO/Jostedalsbreen

Data used:
SRTM-3 from viewfinderpanoramas.org, equals the data used for WS2.0
CLC from https://land.copernicus.eu/pan-european ... land-cover (2006/2012)
OSM landmass from http://openstreetmapdata.com/data/land-polygons (OSM)
OSM streets and railways from http://download.geofabrik.de/europe/norway.html (OSM)
Airport layouts from gateway.x-plane.com, partly/mostly modified according to Bing imagery

Known issues:
*various elevation/landmass problems
*airports (especially ENBL and ENSD) don't perfectly fit into the landscape (elevation)
->Please report any issue you encounter :D

Have fun!

This Christmas I tried to land on Alesund. But there were two airplanes on the runway. They were crashed. I tried it twice. How is cleaning the runway? I am new on FG. Looking around.....

what is the ICAO for Alesund? it is possible those are two static craft and they can be moved or removed...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Today I used TerraMaster for the first time. Looks better. On Alesund (ENAL) there are no crashed airplanes on the runway. I taxied with my C337 around. No problems anymore.

i just realized that you might be talking about AI craft bunched up on the runway (actually center of the airport)... this happens when they do not have a parking place in the ground net for the airport... sounds like good things happened with your update... namely, that you got a good ground net with plenty of parking for the AI craft there at that time... if that's actually what you were seeing...

in any case, glad to hear things are better there for you :)

Such as ENBR(BGO) in not included, rumours about that american agents do not want to provide protect to northern part below Trondheim and northern to Kirkenes and Mehamn, and ENDG( Dagali facilities south of Geilo) is not included too. I have original Norway98 without modifications afterward intent for FS98.

I think you'll be pleased to see that the new version, Scandinavia Custom Scenery (which doesn't include all of Scandinavia, tho) https://github.com/D-ECHO/Scandinavia-CustomScenery also has areas in northern norway ;)

@Oyvind_Hagen you need to look in the user control panel settings and be sure you have enabled BBCode... all of your quotes are showing the raw codes instead of the BBCode translations... the link to the UCP is in the black bar under the logo image at the top of these pages or you can click here: https://forum.flightgear.org/ucp.php
