guys, i was going to post a test run on the rio de janeiro area today, but i discovered that there is a new, much better layout of SBGL on the x plane gateway. So, i decided to redo it using the new layout tomorrow.

I'm sorry, but i could not make the new layout work on terragear. Also, for some reason, the SBRJ layout is also crashing it. I find it very awkward because it was working perfectly yesterday

hey,
So, i decided to give up on the new SBGL layout for now. So i will be using the old one. If someone could take a look on that new layout and point out what's wrong it would be much appreciated.

this is the test run i did on the Rio de Janeiro Area. I decided that i will start working on my first scenery package with what i have tested(states of Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo) before i test other sources of data for the rest of the country, that will be on future packages.

Here are some screenshots with the WIP reviewed materials files(i hope to be releasing it very soon), and the OSM2City data from Terrasync.

SBRJ and Downtown Rio

SBGL(have to move the buildings to their right positions at scenery.flightgear.org. Also would love to have some help here)

Panorama of the city

SBAF(this airport has some grass on the runway edge, could not fix this unfortunately)
Image

Rio's south side

Barra da Tijuca

SBJR

Guaratiba and Marambaia, one of my favorite parts of this scenery

All in all, despite the bugs, i am very proud of what i could achieve here.
I hope you enjoy it!

Hi lomar,

this looks really great!

Which problem do you have with the new SBGL scenery? I just got the latest one from the X-Plane gateway and managed to do a quick test-built, after converting the draped polygons/lines that can be converted and disabling XPlane-only stuff

Terragear is refusing to load it, the bar at the GUI goes immediately to 100% without any files going to the work directory.

but i suspect it has something to do ith errors in WED, whenever i import the layout it says 'there were errors ith the import", and the log says this:

Code: Select all
* Connection #0 to host gatewayapi.x-plane.com left intact
I/CURL perform() done
I/Apt Importing apt.dat from C:\Users\felip\OneDrive\Documentos\WED\Custom Scenery\Untitled 1\SBGL.dat

You can try using the apt.dat from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sktreuxykj1py7m/SBGL.dat?dl=0

Strange, it worked here without problem. Are you using the newest version of terragear (next) or an older one?

I use an older precompiled version bc i don1t know how to compile, and because it works with the GUI. But i find strange that it also has problems on WED.
I work on windows BTW. i dont know if it makes any difference.

yes, i am.
i discovered that by deleting the "taxiways" and the "lines" folders (that i had converted previously to taxiways ) it worked on genapts. So there must be one or more broken features there.
Also, your screenshot seems to have the taxiway centerlines properly displayed, and it is not happening here. when i open them in WED, they have no line attributes, and are not generated by genapts. this also happens with other airports.

Have you tried getting the airport from the scenery gateway (i.e. using the builtin WED function) instead of importing an apt.dat? Maybe the import feature is missing something...
