I just fixed the link.

For those who are new to the topic: there's also a wiki page:
http://wiki.flightgear.org/Project3000
and a small readme.txt inside the tgz package.

If someone likes to contribute:
we need ...
* a hangar 45m x 45m which is open on 2 opposite sides. (or moving doors like this one: https://scenery.flightgear.org/app.php? ... ew&id=5159 )
* a police car
* Textures - Many of the Models in Models/lib can be improved with nicer textures: shed*.ac , cube16x10.ac, farm19x12.ac, LongRow.ac, ...
* some python code that does overlap check the way that osm2city does it
* some code that automates the conversion from dsf facade polygons to osm2city buildings. starting point is here: https://github.com/mherweg/d-laser-fgto ... 2aptdat.py
* a fix for this issue: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=31764&p=306139&hilit=edds#p306139
* integration to terrasync similar to the new OSM layers - Project3000 is only 73MB uncompressed

Hi.
Just two questions:
- to use it as a pilot, you just have to unpack the http://fresh-scenery-for-flightgear.sourceforge.net/project3000/project3000-March2017.tgz or you have also to install all the tools, as described in the wiki?
- if you have to install the tools, are there installation instructions?
- when using it, will FG keep using and downloading Terrasync (I suppose it will, but...)

Thanks

In my experience the answers are no (http://wiki.flightgear.org/Project3000# ... a_pilot.29), yes (http://wiki.flightgear.org/Project3000# ... creator.29) and yes, terrascync still works (but will not update Project3000 objects and maybe place new objects at the same spot over time).

Is there a download link for the Shanghai Pudong airport? My terrain is over there is problematic because I downloaded the official flightgear scenery and I don't think the airport was modeled.

You should download the whole package even though you are only interested in some parts - it does not hurt. I am not sure what you mean by "I don't think the airport was modelled". If the airport is missing including runways and APRON, then downloading Project3000 is not a solution. If you are missing buildings etc, then Project3000 might help.

The airport had runways but the airport would show up in the water because of the terrain.

I am about to convert some of the tooling into osm2city, make it run with Python3, add detection of overlap with existing scenery objects etc. The way of working will be a bit different, but I will make sure that the wiki gets updated and that airports can be generated without the need to have all other osm2city stuff, too.

Hi

I see the last main file for download as a pilot is march 2017. On github there seems to be some updates but I am not sure if this link is still valid http://fresh-scenery-for-flightgear.sou ... ch2017.tgz

or are there any updates? If there are no updates is it advisable to still use it?

Thanks

Given that World Scenery 3.0 will make it much easier to update airport layouts etc. - and given that I have not yet gotten anyone helping with osm2city, it is at the very bottom of my priorities - I might never work on it.
