For some reason the KCAK terminal was rejected...

Why don't the rejection emails have any comments to give us a clue what we should change to get it accepted?

Looking at the archive, whoever rejected your model said:
Is the terminal Black all over? If yes - please resubmit, if not Please make new texture to match

That should be visible in your email like:
The screener left a comment for you: 'Is the terminal Black all over?
If yes - please resubmit, if not Please make new texture to match.'

They do:

Hi,

On Sunday 23rd of March 2014 09:36:57 AM UTC, you issued a 3D model
import request.

We are sorry to let you know that this request was rejected.

For reference, the first part of the unique IDs of this request were
'9646843408' (object) and 'f39e207e86' (model) and it was named 'KCAK
Terminal'.

The screener left a comment for you: 'Is the terminal Black all over?
If yes - please resubmit, if not Please make new texture to match.'

Please do not let this stop you from sending us an improved version of
this model or other models.

Sincerely,

FlightGear Scenery Team

I didn't know if the black building was a mistake. It seemed unlikely the whole building would be black, so I rejected it with that note.

Ah ok. I am actually not sure, I was only able to find a couple pictures which were from bad angles. As I have never actually been to that terminal before, I can't say for sure what it looks like from the side. I do know that top view of it is correct though, from Google maps. Also, any idea why the generic buildings at KAKR are so tall, even though I gave them an elevation offset of -200m?

EDIT:

also, the sides on my model are cement gray, not black ;)

How would I go about making this object shorter? I tried giving it an elevation offset of -200m but it was rejected because it would be below the ground, but right now it is as tall as a skyscraper...

http://scenemodels.flightgear.org/objec ... id=3356083

EDIT:
I think I fixed it, i miscalculated. Changed the offset to -120m

The building model is 135 meters tall. An offset of -120 would make the building 15 meters tall.

That makes it about 50 feet, or 5 storeys. Sounds good to me :)

The database is back in business. Thank you very much for your efforts!

Regarding the missing thumbnails: do you want me to resubmit the thumbnails of my last models? LXGB, mainly. This implies updating the model even if I have not made any change in the .ac file, right?

Hi ludomotico,

The best way to get the thumbnails entered would be to input them as an update.

EDIT:

Anyone know why the kcak terminal is in the database, but it is not placed anywhere? It says it has 0 objects.

Hmm. Akron, the birth place of USS Akron and USS Macon. Se also this post: Re: Moving Carrier aka a Star Destroyer.

Yup, Akron is an awesome aviation town. The Goodyear blimp resides about 15 minutes by car from KAKR next to Wingfoot Lake Park.
