Hello Müller,

If it is the issue of the server not syncing to flightgear, you could try this workaround.

- rename the terrasync directory
- make a new terrasync directory
- startup flightgear at your airport

This procedure should be repeated every time there is a problem. Later when the problem is fixed, you may be able to put back your original terrasync directory.

Kind regards, Vincent

We know that there is a problem with terrasync and we try to fix it.

Until then there is no need to remove or rename the whole terrasync folder.
Just remove the part that you want to have updated. for example:

rm -r .fgfs/TerraSync/Objects/e000n50/e007n51/
rm -r .fgfs/TerraSync/Terrain/e000n50/e007n51/

this way your download will be faster and the load on our servers not so high.

also consider using Terramaster to update scenery.

Hi guys, FYI, scenemodels.flightgear.org seems broken - every statistic page and object browsing page is empty and the dropdown menus on the submission forms are blank (i.e. you can't submit anything).

Confirmed not working here as well. Sent off a mail to Martin Spott (which I think might be is the maintainer) in case he is not aware of it yet.

Edit: Martin is the maintainer.

Thanks Johan. The site now says "Service degraded due to disk failure, do not submit !!!" so he must be aware now.

Hope he had good backups...

I got the response that a boot disk had failed, and that he/we are waiting for it to be replaced locally. Hopefully there is no data loss (in essence that there are fairly recent backups).

People have just submitted a few things successfully, looks like it's back up and running again!

Thanks for fixing, Martin Spott. :D

Just a quick note - I think the mapserver is still broken: http://mapserver.flightgear.org/

It's still got a message about the broken HDD. I'm only pointing this out because it stops anyone starting to use OpenRadar for the first time (it needs the shapefiles on its first run). (The Java app crashes with a 500 Internal Server Error in the log).

Any news about mapserver?
Is there any other server to use?

AFAIK this mapserver will not go online anymore and there is no alternative/backup server for it.

hunh? i thought the mapserver was something quite different then the scenemodels and terrasync stuff...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I just submitted my first model. I deleted the local files so I could get the pull from TerraSync. It looks like the update to the .stg file took, but the model itself did not. Any ideas why?

Code: Select all
Enabling ATI viewport hack
Starting automatic scenery download/synchronization. Using built-in SVN support. Directory: '/Users/kjd/Library/Application Support/FlightGear/TerraSync'.
/Users/kjd/Library/Application Support/FlightGear/TerraSync/Objects/w080n30/w076n35/1711953.stg: Failed to load OBJECT_SHARED 'Models/Maritime/Misc/HatterasLight.xml'
Kevins-MacBook-Pro-2:FlightGear kjd$ pwd
/Users/kjd/Library/Application Support/FlightGear
Kevins-MacBook-Pro-2:FlightGear kjd$ find . -name HatterasLight.xml
Kevins-MacBook-Pro-2:FlightGear kjd$

Well, they are in : http://scenery.flightgear.org/websvn/re ... &rev=56281 and I'd bet I could grab them from a fresh install. You should also probably delete Terrasync's cache too. It seems we still have a problem with some proxies.
