Hm; seems that part of my problem was that my .stg file was looking for them in Models/Maritime/Misc, whereas the .stg file in the SVN repo is looking for them in the grid directory. So I obviously had a bad .stg file. I'll work on forcing a more complete reload when I have some more time to wrestle with it.
Thanks - kevin

Your model is a static one http://scenemodels.flightgear.org/app.p ... ew&id=5101 . Therefore, it won't go into she shared models directory (Models/...). When it's a static model, then the .ac, .xml and .png files are stored in the "grid" directory.

I renamed my TerraSync directory and now the model shows. Thanks for the help!

I request the unknown authors of the scenemodels to have more attention in the models submitted as shared, mainly airport shared, I am surprised with a model that has almost 1.5 megabyte  texture. And also think it should not be allowed unknown authors to submit models to the scenery, this is my opinion.

EDIT:The model is Hangar_30x20m and texture size is 1.478.594 bytes exactly.
This model /object is in Shared Airport architecture, i.e., all who use TerraSync should by obligation or imposition download this thing- Enabled TS and you'll have to download it

Thanks for finding this.
The texture can easily be reduced to 50kB because the tiling(texture repeat) of the door texture can be done in the 3D editor and not like it was done in this case: in the texture file.

This is a similar topic:

I am willing to improve shared models IF we get rid of those annoying reCaptcha.
It is hard enough to enter valid data in the forms AND we have human quality check.
We do not need this Captcha.

Hi everyone
Please understand that I posted only to help all users of FG-TerraSync-, and in no way offend or hurt anyone, but I feel compelled to when I see something like this model in write here on the Forum as a way to alert those who work on models, mainly for beginners, I have absolutely nothing against the person who worked this model , I encourage you to others come do good works in models – surely the users and developers of Flightgear thank.
There are a few things to be changed and I know it's not easy, there are a number of factors that involve these changes, there can be a day to another but with time and good will gradually things will take a good course.
I mentioned about unknown author should not accept models coming from a stranger, I see no difficulty in putting the name in the list of authors, but it's not up to me.
CAPTCHA is something extremely annoying, I agree with you, maybe developers or people who can change this think more about and maybe have another way instead of annoying Captchas that honestly sometimes makes us lose patience in typing that pile of distorted letters and numbers.
Sorry for writing quickly, I'm a little busy. And also write very bad English, I think it is possible to understand, at least a little :P
Thanks :D

@ pommesschranke , you are doing an excellent work, I've been following your project.

a while ago I made those 2 wiki pages:

http://wiki.flightgear.org/Textures_of_ ... _file_size
http://wiki.flightgear.org/Shared_model ... _file_size

the big models/textures are at the bottom of each list.

I've updated the default windsock model:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=29867

What I did was share the ac3d model between the lit and unlit model and added an ALS and non-ALS version of the model. Which requires more than one xml file to be included. But the webtool only allows me to include just one xml file which is not enough.

Alright, for now I duplicated the ac3d model and simplified the animations for the illuminated windsock model (I realized that lightmaps are not ALS specific). Therefor I ditched the idea to us the wingflexer to animate the windsock itself.

Hello,

At the moment living in the South of France , i went on the top of MtVentoux.
FG scenery terragear downloaded gives a good representation for that mountain, however there is a huge mistake:
the building with tower (TourVentoux) at the top , is not correctly oriented:
we may find at Objects/e000n40/e005n44/3039625.stg
OBJECT_STATIC TourVentoux.ac 5.27805954 44.17373738 1894.72 180

it should be
OBJECT_STATIC TourVentoux.ac 5.27805954 44.17373738 1894.72 0

What must be done to get it fixed.
Thanks

Hi Josh,

1. Use the scenery map to locate the marker for the object.
2. Click on the marker.
3. Click on update object.
5. Input the correct details and hit 'submit'.

To quote the Meercat, "Simples".

I've just validated the update, so it should be done with tomorrow's lunchtime update.
