that definitely shows the flaw/bug in the scenery...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I wonder if that's related to my experience heading north from KNUQ (Moffett Field), where one tile directly across the SF Bay has never appeared since Scenery 2.0 launched.

might be... can you grab a screen shot from the UFO with the HUD turned on so we can take a look? i just took off from KNUQ rwy 32R and followed that same heading... at one point, i saw a lot of grey looking stuff to my right so i went over there and found it was urban terrain so i headed back to my previous flight line and started to turn back to my original heading and had the sim dump and put me back at the command line with nothing logged in the log file or on the console... i've since gone back and flown this again without the diversion and haven't crashed yet... i don't see any tiles that look wrong but i have downloaded the entire world with terramaster so i might have the tile you don't seem to be able to get...

Thanks KLM-Royal for Juancho Y. build! This website has "low poly" cars for free download. http://www.dmi-3d.net. You can get realistic looking people 2d images from the Mr. Cutout website. Takes lower memory than 3d. Use a .png to merge and use on FG. I've built the St. Louis main terminal and it's on Flight Gear scenery. Also built the Black Sheep Base from WWII if you're interested. Computer died so it might be while before I can share.

I'd like that. The standard scenery is severely lacking. I flew my DHC6 out of Munda to what should have been Vela Lavella, but nothing there. I mean the island is there, but no runway.

that indicates that Vella Lavella is not in the apt.dat... if you can find the particulars of it, you should be able to add it to your setup via the custom scenery NavDat feature... unless the custom scenery come with everything needed when the poster releases it for download...

Don't need nav.dat. No navaids there. Mine isn't standard anyway. Canefield (DCF) is not correct, except in mine.

I would like the scenery.

i didn't say nav.dat... i pointed to the NavDat folder feature in the custom scenery directory where you can have mycustomscenery/NavDat/apt and mycustomscenery/NavDat/nav overrides or additions to apt.dat and/or nav.dat without having to edit the original apt.dat.ga and nav.dat.gz files ;)

I'm already using D-ECHO's Caribbean scenery. This would just add to that.

Unfortunately their licenses are not compatible with the GNU General Public License, version 2 (GPLv2) license used by the FlightGear Scenery Database. This is mostly since they do not allow commercial reuse/distribution. Models and clipart from those sites can therefore not be added the the scenery database and thus can not be made available through TerraSync.

Exploitation or commercial use of a model is forbidden without permission from its authors or distributors.

  • 3D visualizations/renderings representing architecture, landscape design, urban planning, interior design etc.
  • Selling images enriched with MrCutout products.

It unfortunately also, among other limitations not compatible with GPLv2, states
7 g) Every customer/user IS NOT ALLOWED TO:
