Uh, no. The whole firework needs to be billboarded with an <animation> type billboard. Else the fireworks might be seen from the side depending on the location. But maybe that's even all right - do fireworks in reality explode in a sphere or in a circle ? Probably rather the first, so this isn't even needed.

Yes, will do that when it's ready ! In the middle term, I'm planning to make a script for creation of fireworks in arbitrary shapes - this would be very complicated to do by trial and error. (Would be useful for e.g. recreating the annual Sydney fireworks in FG where you can see hearts, butterflies, etc. :) ).

generally speaking, the explosion is uniform in all direction so you get a sphere... there are some that have a directional entity to them so the look like lillies when they pop...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Why would you want to billboard a particle system (not individual particles) - the particle system is perfectly capable of doing full 3d structures and fireworks come pretty natural to it in terms of the definition elements of 'shooters' (I would think a credible waterfall is much harder).

Hmm … I think my fireworks do look better ! But the rotating particle system is good … might be useful for some "Goldregen" …

Try installing this. I didn't create this, but don't remember who did.

If you could share a video how they look … I could surely rig this ! :)

Hi TheEagle!

I have searched for a long time for videos or pictures of that... Nothing... And unfortunately, not even the usually very detailed official books have something useful to say, like product or vendor item name or chemical makeup or something.
They only say something very unspecific, like "some rockets can be used to signalize distress, others to lighten the area".
So I have made just a very basic version (particle system) with simple 'lighting balls' (sounds like an AC/DC song :) ) being shot out.
Now that reminds me that I haven't implemented a "reload rockets" option yet...
If you want to take a look anyway, the relevant panel is called "TP622", on the right vertical console.
Thanks for the offer, as soon as I will find anything, I will get back to you!

Ciao,

Adrian
