EHAM problem

EHAM problem

I found these strange hills at EHAM (FG 2020.3.11). Is it some scenery bug ? I have not any custom scenery for that airport...

Hard to say but they look like an attempt to simulate floodlights?

It's a rendering issue...

Those are the apron lights which have a light volume... this light volume doesn't seem to be rendered correctly.

Also, those 6 tanks don't look like the ones placed by osm2city... are you sure, you haven't modified anything?

Not, is is vanilla FG install via D/C script. And all vehicles drives over this "hills", not through.

Checking the XML, it seems they are prepared to work with Rembrandt and, if I understood the code correctly, the light cone shouldn't be rendered if Rembrandt is not used.

V12, it seems like a nice opportunity for you to update these lamps to work correctly in the current version of FlightGear.

Not only that, light cone is set as non collision object, but AI planes spawn on the lamps. I changed property /sim/rendering/rembrandt/enabled from false to true and back to false, but without any effect. It looks like in the scenery file is reference to the .ac model and not to the .xml file.

The .stg file both in the sever and the one downloaded by terrasync in my computer references the .xml, not the .ac: http://flightgear.sourceforge.net/scene ... 023762.stg

This snapshot from more or less the same position as yours shows the light poles are rendered correctly in my system. I'm using a nightly version from a month ago.

I don't have the tanks or the white buildings to the right of your image.

I tried to change the rendering options, but the tanks or the white buildings or the grey cones never appeared.

Anyway, those tanks are weird. They are not in terrasync (https://scenery.flightgear.org/static/map/index.html, search EHAM) and Idon't think you have OpenStreetMap on, since the roads crossing the airport (in my snapshot) are not in yours, Are you completely sure you are not using a custom scenery? If you are not, it could be a regression in one of the last versions. Try to update and build again the system, regressions do happen when you are running the very last version from git and sometimes they are fixed in hours.

I builded FG yesterday, stable version 2020.3.11. I do not know, where is the problem.

The tanks come from osm2city, so you might have not enabled them. Roads are independent of tanks (iirc, they're under the Details dir in o2c)

this so-called fix should not be needed since months... especially for OSG 3.6.5 and FG 2020.0.4...

A320family has white numbers and Garmin is unusable in FG 2020.3.11 compiled with unmodified script. A320 is more important than EHAM. On Win, FG2020.4.0. has flashing some ground textures, probably due to some shader problem and is hardly usable.
So, for me is it fix at the cost of the unusability of EHAM ;)

I will try compile FG2020.4.0 on the Linux with unmodified script. Last time (more than month ago on the customer's machine compiling process failed).

The rendering in the unstable branch is undergoing a lot of changes (see past newsletters: https://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGear_ ... road_ahead ). The unstable branch is a bit of a construction site. This is a known issue, and Icecold said that part will be replaced entirely in an upcoming update. It may also not be an issue on AMD or different NVIDIA GPU series (not sure).

Turning overlays off avoids the issue, for now.

Another test of the freshly compiled FG2020.4.0 daily. I used unmodified D/C script, on LUbuntu 20.04 after completly removed Terrasync folder :
