The Airports and Terrain folders of ludomotico have been merged with my building models at:
https://github.com/John-Bray/Lukla_mods_FG

If anyone wants any more stuff adding, just let me know where to collect it - but it must be GPL to be included.

@Warty: Nice work! It appears the runway is now in the correct location.
What did you use for elevation? It seems like the runway is on uneven ground. The rwy06 threshold is slanted up to the west.
If using an hgt file, I can grade that level for you.
If I am going to grade it, put off positioning the buildings until the grading is done.

@SurferTim: the buildings are placed fairly accurately (I think !) based on OSM for lat/long at least. There are still more to be added yet. Height-wise I used ludomotico's previous version to get things roughly in position in elevation. Mainly because I knew it would be a long and fiddly process when the tile is graded better, so I wanted to get the buildings in the general area for now.

I believe that ctesc356 is looking at integrating an hgt file for the tile - then I can finalise the building positions and add some ramps/terraces as required.

The challenge is the buildings elevation is set when you position it. If the terrain elevation changes, that leaves the building either part buried or floating in the air. Been there. Done that.
The slight twist isn't that big of a thing. It's much better than it was! Thanks!

A couple of points, in case of any possible misunderstanding here :)

I have no means (and/or ability) of editing a terrain file - I'm just doing the buildings / AC3D files.

The buildings are all in one model and use one graphic (similar to what you might get from OSM2CITY) so the individual buildings are quite easy to identify and move around in AC3D. But thanks for your concern 8)

Is GPL 3.0 where is the problem?
It is only more restrictive than GPL 2.0 but is considered, by the founders of the GPL compatible, if they say so ...
However this is more and more a point to be addressed by FGFS, more and more authors produce under GPL3 (and in my opinion they are right) and therefore the problem must be solved, perhaps with a second repository that contains GPL 3 objects that can be integrated into the system of automatic loading of FGFS. It seems to me very simple and respectful of everyone's opinions and tastes at no additional cost.

The export of airports, does not work. The ap is integrated in the btg with a custom texture.
If needed we can modify the mesh or the textures.
In this case work directly in "vnlk-modif.blend" and then export.
I have shortened some routes, but we can put them back, we can do cleaner work in Blender than by terragear which leaves a not very clean mesh.

so It's hard for me to say what went wrong 8)

My guess is that you are using (at least partly) an older version - maybe even more than one! I would recommend that you remove anything related to older versions and start again with the this latest version.

Hi

I think there is something wrong in the "Terrain" folder; when I use it, FG crashes a few seconds after clicking on "Fly"; if I remove it, my plane is outside the airport, on a slope, but at least I have something.
