Drawing grid above the terrain

An exciting "new" option in FlightGear, that includes reflections, lightmaps, the particle system etc.. A lot is yet to be discovered/implemented!

Several options, depending on your background/skills and interests.
One of the easier ones being a Canvas based HUD: https://wiki.flightgear.org/Canvas_HUD

Effects/shaders can also be made to work with Canvas stuff pretty easily: https://wiki.flightgear.org/Canvas_deve ... 2F_Shaders

For a Compositor based approach, it would make sense to reach out to the devel list or repost your questions in the shader/effects sub forum (look for responses by Thorsten, i4dnf, vs or Stuart/Icecode GL). Performance-wise, shaders are probably preferable in the long run.

Other approaches would require C++ changes: https://wiki.flightgear.org/Canvas_scenery_overlays
