Help Needed: Writing first shader

An exciting "new" option in FlightGear, that includes reflections, lightmaps, the particle system etc.. A lot is yet to be discovered/implemented!

Well, he suggested to propose another project, and in another topic he specifically suggested to ignore the compositor for the time being. So I guess, that's as clear as it gets ;-)
Please don't send support requests by PM, instead post your questions on the forum so that all users can contribute and benefit

I'm guessing you want an answer to this:
Is it possible, that I need to copy and modify all effects to use a cubemap instead?

That would be a nightmare to maintain...


I told you that it is possible to avoid the tediousness of rewriting every effect by using something called Effect schemes. The feature is quite advanced though so I implied that you should get more familiar with Effects and shaders first. If you wanted to pursue this anyway, I encouraged you to create a project for the FSWeekend Hackathon so I could help you more directly. Perhaps I didn't explain myself correctly before, please let me know if it's clearer now.

I cetainly won't do that at the hackatlon... too many other, more interresting proposals.

... then I'll go with the path, where I know how to do it my self... without the other improvements.
