4.0.3 hotfix has been pushed! Changlog in first post.

It also adds logic for the HDG HLD/SEL modes used at the request of the 747-400 guys - its a flip flop properly, so it won't switch rapidly between HLD and SEL if you turn away in FD mode - like the real plane. See the wiki SDK section for how to use that.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hi Gijs,
Thank you! Please let me know if there are any more functionality I can add to ITAF!

I am already adding also a interface system to better have mode name conversion for various aircraft integration.

Kind Regards,
Josh

ATTENTION
MORE BUGFIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS 4.0.3 VERSION PUSHED! See first post!

Additionally, I am planning to rework the ALIGN, and ROLLOUT modes. They do not work very well right now, and should be corrected. That changes will come in a new version number.
What i believe most airliners do, is align to the runway heading using yaw. Then they bank to keep VOR/LOC. This happens until touchdown, when it using deviation from this heading to keep LOC centered. I believe it should level the wings right before touchdown, but that isn't confirmed. I will be researching autoland functionality in detail before I rework ITAF's. This rework will also fix the behavior of de-rotation.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hi,
Another 4.0.3 supplement update is now available.

- You can now tell ITAF's A/THR what max and min thrust settings to use, and this can be done dynamically in the sim.
What means that?
It means thrust rating or FADEC systems can tell ITAF where the max/min throttle inputs should be throughout the envelope of speed, altitude, mach, OAT, whatever your system uses! Just normalize the command and send to ITAF and it will be done without compromise!

Kind Regards,
Josh

IT-AUTOFLIGHT now gives absolute values of VS and FPA for those of you using textranslate (like MD-11) on your cockpits, now you don't have to do stupid bias or other kinda buggy things for it! Simply animate off /it-autoflight/input/vs-abs and /it-autoflight/input/fpa-abs and you are good to go.
Devotion: Make sure that your bindings still go on /it-autoflight/input/vs and /it-autoflight/input/fpa ! Setting the abs will do NOTHING!

Kind Regards,
Josh

Re: IT-AUTOFLIGHT V4.0.5

Postby Octal450 » Thu Jul 09, 2020 1:48 am

IT-AUTOFLIGHT V4.0.5 starting.

First change is removing legacy and streamline. The following props have changed!!!

/it-autoflight/input/spd-kts -> /it-autoflight/input/kts
/it-autoflight/input/spd-mach -> /it-autoflight/input/mach

Why did he change? Because people got confused with the switcher between Kts and Mach, /it-autoflight/input/kts-mach. It was a legacy naming, please update your virtual cockpits! (NOTEPAD++ has a handy Replace In Files (under Find in Files tab) feature that I used to do this! Do it only after dropping in the new files! Remember to remove the leading slash just in case for search)

In addition, corrections were made to the min/max clamps of the VS demand controller, and the pitch deg controller.

DO NOT SKIP THIS UPDATE! Future updates have great things coming, and this is a required change!

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hi,
I've been trying to implement the IT-AUTOFLIGHT into the A310 recently and the autopilot does show up with the dialog, and autothrust, VS and FLCH all work but somehow LNAV and changing the heading does not work at all. I'm also getting a nasal runtime error in the nasal console that says: "Nasal Runtime Error: nil used in numeric context" that is from line 794 in it-autoflight.nas and is being called from line 343. I did follow all the instructions from the wiki page but I do think I am doing something wrong here
