You've asked for a file for an FSX aircraft. For that, we CAN NOT help you.

Cheers,
Sam.

Sam, this is a perfectly legitimate question! FlightGear route manager was designed to load those files!
Level-D 767 is not just a MSFS aircraft, but also a "file format". See http://wiki.flightgear.org/Route_manager#SID_and_STAR

Sadly the mentioned website no longer overs the files for free. I thought there was an alternative, but I cannot find the link right now...

EDIT: When visiting http://www.navdata.at/php/sidstar/dl_li ... don=LDS767 on my phone, it does allow me to download files for free, but they are old (2004 or 2007)

The package says
This data my not be used, ecompiled, interpreted or distributed for any purpose without the written consent of Navigraph

I highly doubt this permission was given. Since we do care about licenses, I've removed the link from your post.

My recommendation is to pay for the data, it's about the price of a coffee from Starbucks. Yes it would be nice if it was free, but sometimes life doesn't give us what we want. I have a script which moves / renames the Level-D files into the correct places in the Airports/ directory, BTW.

Can you post the script?

It's ruby, should be obvious how to port to any other scripting language though.

SID/STAR does not work for me on FG 3.0.0 on MAC OS X 10.9.2.

I placed the file LSGG.xml, from navigraph (Level-D format), as LSGG.procedures.xml in
FlightGear.app/Contents/Resources/data/Scenery/Airports/L/S/G/ folder.

But when I configure a route from or to LSGG, the SID/STAR do not show up.

[Update]
If I run Flightgear with "Download scenery on the fly" enabled, the SID & STAR of the respective airports do not show up. But when I disable it, they correctly appear in the route manager. But the problem is then that I don't have any scenery and the plane crashes into the sea while starting up flightgear. - How can I fix that?

[Update]
Disabling automatic download of scenery and manual download of scenery, - thus to be able to fly, - solves this issue.
Still I think it's a bug, SID/STAR are unavailable when automatic scenery download is enabled.

I just put together a small bash script, that creates th FG-folder-structure for the levelD data. Somehow I couldn't get Zakalawe's script to work...

Put this into the lowest directory, where all the xml files are stored and run it in the terminal.
It then creates for example the following structure:
KSFO.xml -> Airports/K/S/F/KSFO.procedures.xml
Copy the folder Airports, where you want it and add it to your --fg-scenery

Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash

for file in *.xml
  do
    FILENAME=$( echo $file | sed s/.xml// )
    DIR=$( echo "$FILENAME" | sed s/[A-Z0-9]\$// )
    ONE=$( echo "$DIR" | sed s/[A-Z0-9]\$// | sed s/[A-Z0-9]\$// )
    TWO=$( echo "$DIR" | sed s/[A-Z0-9]// | sed s/[A-Z0-9]\$// )
    THREE=$( echo "$DIR" | sed s/[A-Z0-9]// | sed s/[A-Z0-9]// )
    #echo "$file => $DIR => $ONE / $TWO / $THREE / $file"
    mkdir -pv "../Airports/$ONE/$TWO/$THREE"
    cp -v $file "../Airports/$ONE/$TWO/$THREE/$FILENAME.procedures.xml"
  done

Hope that saves someone the trouble to redo the same...

P.S.
Does someone know, how to add the data in wpnavaid.txt, wpnavapt.txt, wpnavfis.txt wpnavrte.txt into FG ? And if it even makes sense? Is all that already there?

Don't hesitate to let me know if I'm incorrect or just annoying! As long as you do it gently! :)

Hi cris_blues, excellent idea. Does it actually or shouldn't it actually create files of the name type KSFO.procedures.xml?

Or am I behind in the modern usage?

D'oh! I read the code and see that it does, sorry. It's just your textual description that doesn't follow the code.

thanks for this, it should be very helpful!!

I've posted a bug report about the automatic sids and stars at KDEN in the 3.5 windows nightly build. the stars are all 2000 and 4000 foot, and the SIDS all 3000 and 6000 foot and this doesn't take in account of the fact that KDEN is at a mile high elevation to begin with.
