Compile 17.4 with MINT 18.2 not show Menu Bar - RESOLVED

Postby abassign » Mon Nov 06, 2017 11:37 pm

I clear the complete FGFS system and the ".fgfs" folder in my Linux MINT 18.2 machine.
I install the version OSG "3.4.0+dfsg1-4+openmw2~xenial1" that is Linux MINT 18.2 compatible.
The program, with the script "download_and_compile.sh", is compile ok.
I start with ./run_fgfs.sh --launcher option and start the program.
I start the default airplane and ...
The program start ok, but the menu bar is inexistent ! I try with F10, but the menu bar it it not show ...

What may have happened ?

I can confirm this, *do not use this library* (I was using it with the same effect). Best way. Download OSG 3.4.x and build it from source. Next build FG with this new library. For me it works OK.

I confirm, but I used another procedure for respect the system procedure.
1. I remove OSG
2. I compile OSG ad install it, but now I have misaligned the package management system!
3. Now I install a new repository with 3.4:
Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openmw/openmw
sudo apt update
sudo apt install openscenegraph-3.4

Now it works well and the package management system has been re-aligned.

I think the problem is in some small difference between packet 3.4.1 to be compiled, compared to the already completed package.
Reinstalling, as I did, does not delete some packages, which are probably the most essential ones.
Obviously not very elegant, it would be best to compile with make by building a compatible debian package, but it is not immediate as a procedure.
