terragear windows compile

Building FlightGear from source, and in the need for help?

terragear windows compile

Postby Alant » Sat Mar 19, 2016 12:22 am

Has terragear been successfully compiled on windows recently?

I am seeing most of the failures seen in the Ubuntu thread viewtopic.php?f=45&t=27399, and have tried Windows versions of the solutions presented there. (in particular use terragear branch scenery/ws2.0 and GDAL 2.0)

(Windows 10, MSVC10, 64bit)

Contrary to the Wiki documentation no terragear builds are available on Jenkins.

You can try my binaries, see
http://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25036#p228782

I still have the setup to build these on my Windows machine, but it's been over a year since I last built it and I remember there was some needed config that wasn't really documented. But the config I am talking about was because I had a two versions of VC on my system and I had to account for that.

Thanks, your git from https://github.com/wlbragg/Terragear-Toolchain.git compiles, but only after reverting the final commit (Bump minimum GDAL version to 2.0.0.)

The errors were the same with the version from http://git.code.sf.net/p/flightgear/terragear, so I assume that reverting this commit would work with that as well.

I used CGAL-4.8-beta1 and Gdal/gdal-1-11-3. Also I used 3rd party includes and libraries (jpeg etc) from gdal. I suspect that it may be possible to use the 3rd party (which includes Gdal) that are on Jenkins for building Flightgear.

I was referred to this thread since I had questions about trying to get terragear to work on windows in another thread about NavData\apt. I thought I had a shortcut to avoid terragear. So now I am back to attempting to download from the wiki here:

http://wiki.flightgear.org/TerraGear_In ... or_Windows

the download link would not work so I am not sure how to acquire it to begin with now.

A little background... I just started using FlightGear at the beginning of the month. I Just started using WED a few days ago. I have a new airport layout, or rather an update to an existing airport that is local to me, and I am trying to "preview" it. I am a layman when it comes to this stuff and just reading the wiki had me a little turned around and I'm just hopeful I can figure it out.
