wanted: smaller version of fgdata

Building FlightGear from source, and in the need for help?

wanted: smaller version of fgdata

I did a scripted compilation on an new PC. fgfs version 2.99
Downloading fgdata takes very long.
Even copying 15GB fgdata from another PC via the LAN takes an hour or more.

It would be nice to have a light/essential version of fgdata so I can try fgfs
without waiting many hours.

Code: Select all
git clone --depth 1 url/to/fgdata

should just download the latest version, without all the different file-versions since day #1. Maybe, if it doesn't work, try:
Code: Select all
git clone --depth=1
No idea, how big it still would be, but I'd guess a lot smaller than the whole history!
Don't hesitate to let me know if I'm incorrect or just annoying! As long as you do it gently! :)
