Hi,

Errors about libboost1.46-dev is normal with ubuntu distro since it isn't available for ubuntu. I have adapted a "download_and_compile" script for ubuntu distro.
I suggest you to download this script : http://clemaez.fr/flightgear/download_and_compile.sh

And use it normally ;)
With your specs I suggest you to launch the script like :
Code: Select all
sh download_and_compile.sh -j 12 ALL

Cheers,
Clément

It come sometime. This errors means that GITORIOUS.ORG is too busy or the connection with GITORIOUS.ORG have a bug.
Just restart the script from FGDATA and all should be good. In conclusion run these command :

In one terminal :
Code: Select all
sh download_and_compile.sh DATA

And in other terminal (because DATA take very very very long time !)
Code: Select all
sh download_and_compile.sh -j 12 -a n FGO
then
Code: Select all
sh download_and_compile.sh -j 12 -a n FGRUN
then
Code: Select all
sh download_and_compile.sh -j 12 -a n FGCOM
then
Code: Select all
sh download_and_compile.sh -j 12 -a n FGCOMGUI
then
Code: Select all
sh download_and_compile.sh -j 12 -a n ATLAS

Cheers,
Clément

Don't worry, all is good ;)
With the parameter "ALL" you re-download and re-compile all... but at the first time (when you have the hang up error) OSG, SIMGEAR and FGFS was already downloaded and compiled.
But all is good if now it work.

Have you used "-s" parameter with download_and_compile.sh ?
Are you sure that you use "run_fgfs.sh" to launch FG ?

No no ! don't use -s parameter ! :D
If you use -s parameters you compile Stable versino (2.6.0) without -s parameters you compile GIT version. It was a question, not a suggestion ;)

You must launch FG with "sh run_fgfs.sh" in the folder where you have executed the download_and_compile script.

Sigh.
I ran
sh download_and_compile.sh -s

After it was done I got this again

fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: early EOF
fatal: index-pack failed

ran it 3 more times with the same error.

I did run Fg with "sh run_fgfs.sh" but it was still 2.4

So what paramet do I use?
