download_and_compile.sh FG 2.6 on Ubuntu 10.04

Hi All,

I have a Ubuntu 10.04 64bit system and I'm trying to compile FG 2.6 with download_and_compile.sh v1.2.
I currently have FG 2.0 compiled on my system using download_and_compile.sh V0.6

I have changed download_and_compile.sh to use the the 1.4 version of the boost libraries rather than 1.46.

When I run the download and compile script I get the following errors while compiling OSG:

Code: Select all
[ 18%] Building CXX object src/osgDB/CMakeFiles/osgDB.dir/XmlParser.o
Linking CXX shared library ../../lib/libosgDB.so
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libz.a(deflate.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `.rodata' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/local/lib/libz.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [lib/libosgDB.so.3.0.1] Error 1
make[1]: *** [src/osgDB/CMakeFiles/osgDB.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

Linking CXX shared library ../../lib/libosgDB.so

make[2]: *** [lib/libosgDB.so.3.0.1] Error 1
make[1]: *** [src/osgDB/CMakeFiles/osgDB.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

Can anyone make any recommendations on how I can resolve this problem? Or what further information I need to post to provide more clarity.
