building TerraGear

Building FlightGear from source, and in the need for help?

Hi,

I am still trying to improve Moorea scenery...
I have hopefully been able to produce the shapefiles with Qgis, and I am now supposed to use ogr-decode which is I believe a package from terragear.

Unfortunately I can't find any ogr-decode in my machine.

So I have decided to fix the libGL issue, by modifying a line in your script and give a new run.
OpensceneGraph did build successfully, but still no ogr-decode in ~/Terragear/install/terragear-cs/bin. Has it been replaced by shape-decode ?

I have found directory holding some files:
Code: Select all
francois@francois-desktop:~/Terragear/terragear-cs/src/Prep/OGRDecode$ ls
CMakeFiles  cmake_install.cmake  CMakeLists.txt  Makefile  ogr-decode.cxx  process.sh

but it has not produced anything ? Some compilation option needed ?

Thanks for your help.

Cannot help with the building issue, but instead of ogr-decode you can also use shape-decode (maybe you've got that?)...

Hi François,

This is the list of executable I have in my fgfs-tools/install/terragear-cs/bin :
Code: Select all
demchop         fgfs-tools-client  genapts850   photo         test_array
deminfo         fgfs-tools-server  gshhs        raw2ascii     testassem
e00lines        fillvoids          gshhs_debug  shape-decode  tguserdef
fgfs-construct  findcorners        hgtchop      srtmchop      tgvpf
fgfs-master     genapts            noaa-decode  terrafit      wgs84offset

As you can see I haven't ogr-decode, so I think it's normal you haven't it.

Cheers,
Clément

Hi,

Yes I have shape-decode...

I was trying to follow instructions provided in: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Using_TerraGear as terragear_gui did not work well for me. (But I have not tried a lot, as I am quite confortable with scripts: I have been working with Unix/Linux for years...)
If ogr-decode is obsolete, then the wiki should be updated accordingly ? Who should I contact for this ?

Anyway, thanks for the help.

I will keep you updated

Regards

François
