Terrascenery on Google Code- how?

Postby skyop » Sat Aug 21, 2010 2:15 am

I was taking a look around at the TerraSync repository at Google Code and took a look at Google's "project hosting" page. According to it, projects are given 2 GB of space. I'm pretty sure that the entire Terrasync repository adds up to much, much more than 2 GB, so how is this possible?

Generous sponsors, I'd say - FlightGear is a fairly prominent project, and if you ask people nicely to grant additional resources, you may even get them...
Gitorious is another such case, they also have a repository size limit for open source projects - which would not be sufficient for the FlightGear base package repository.

There used to be a time when such donations/sponsors were added to the $FG_ROOT/Thanks file, but apparently that is no longer the case.
