Split off from the topic Piper PA28 Warrior II.

Both those issues have been fixed in "next" - you should be able to open and close it multiple times per flight and also resize it.

However, do bear in mind that the FG1000 isn't a tablet-based GPS, but a piece of the cockpit.

I take it "next" refers to the next version of FG. When is that likely to be, please.

Hi,

I take it the wiki is outdated...

2020.2 is planned probably in September. After that it will be "Long-term stable" release for a significant period of time, while some long-due maintenance is performed on "next".

So all the updates we have been discussing won't be available until September at the earliest. Is that right.

There may be some interim releases of 2020.2 in the meantime, as "preview" releases. If so, they'll be announced on the website .

Now is now. The number is automatically updated every day ;-) It reads 113 now. Do note that our release dates are generally not set in stone, so the exact date may change over time.

In case someone wants to go into more depth about releases etc., I'd suggest to open another topic, to prevent clutter

"next" is rather the place where development for the next software release lives and is worked on. Not unlike a long term project on a workbench in the garage that get a a bit of additions and fixes each day after getting home from work. Once a FlightGear version is released it get "branched off" and work continues on "next" in preparation for the then upcoming version.
