More liveries for Flightgear

Postby Jakub47 » Thu Jun 11, 2020 9:30 pm

About a month ago I really got into making liveries. Since then i made about 40 of them, and I'm constantly creating/upgrading them. For now I kind of run out of ideas, so if you have any ideas please let me know.

Nice work!

Some comments re the A320-family
First up in a matter of weeks they will be obsolete due to the new model which at the moment is being animated. There will be a new paintkit of course, and you are more than welcome to contribute.
But, they are very good quality, nice work.

Please ensure you check variants if you want to make liveries to be included with the aircraft - British Airways has no CFM-engined A320s and the A320-100 should really have been the Landor livery! A useful resource for this is airfleets.net.

As long as they meet the correct guidelines, would be more than happy to add any liveries you make to the liveries included with the A320 once the paintkit is released.

First of all thank you, I really try to make my liveries look great. Second I really thought that British Airways had CFM-engined A320 but I guess that I made a mistake, and last but not least about the paint kit - how much will it change?

Of the most significant changes:

Resolution is up to 4K or 8K instead of 1K.
The mesh and it's UV changed completely.
Placement of all parts of the fuselage are in different locations on the texture.
The vertical stabilizer UV is attached to the fuselage UV for easier painting.
Windows are no longer part of the mesh, they are part of the texture.
You can paint the underside (easy belly logos)

The XCF paintkit will make it easier to paint all over this, with placards, seams, windows etc on separate layers. Unless you made your liveries in a vector program such as Inkscape or make them as bitmap but with at a high resolution, you will not be able to reuse any of those since you can't scale them up.
Ongoing projects(3D modelling): A320, MD-11, A350, B767
