One good message - MP problem with ALS lights and shader effects in 2018.3.1.RC Win has been fixed. But tyresmoke property set to 1 first 30 seconds after simulation start is still here. Bad message - strange clouds rotation after long flight from W to E or E to W is present :

2018.3.1.RC on Win 7 is significant faster than 2018.2.1. Bravo developers !

No, it is not released yet.

The multiplayer problems have been fixed, so it should be very soon now though :)

The release has been built successfully apparently... it just needs someone to copy them to sourceforge and flightgear.org :)

Hello,

Whatever I do in new Flight-planning, as I press to "View route", FlightGear closes.

I'm selecting departure and destination airports, cruise speed and altitude, but "Generate route" is still passive.

Is there any tutorial for new Flight-planning? Am I doing somethings wrong?

Thank you.

PS : I deleted all old folders of FlightGear in Documents and AppData, before installing FlightGear 2018.3.1 freshly.

so when it enters it closes the page and appears this error already removed but it does not run the FG and in 10 minutes of flight it goes there and closes and it appears again

My experience with the new 2018.3.1 release is that framerate has significantly increased (about 4-6 fps) with the Piper Warrior II and other planes. When you have been getting 12-13 fps and are now at 16-18 fps, that's significant. Makes the simulator much more enjoyable!
The menu, which now allows one to load a flight plan beforehand, is also a big plus.
Many thanks to the core team, your efforts are very much appreciated!

P.S. FPS is with AI enabled , ALS, and many other settings at high levels. Also, I edited this post to reduce the claimed fps increase based on a second day's use.

I just saw that after reading your comment, that's awesome! It's a little hard to find if you're not looking for it.

Just realized the Aircraft (experimental) option (I think that is what is was called) is no longer available in the File tab on the menu in the latest (final) 2018.3.1. This was a good way to change aircraft or location (especially parking) without exiting the simulator and re-loading, and it seemed to work pretty well. I know the objective of this release was to provide a "stable" version of FG, and I also know that feature resulted in a few crashes (at least it happened to me on occasion), but it usually saved time when a change in location or aircraft was desired in the middle of a flying session. Will it be brought back or has it been eliminated from future consideration? Personally, it will be missed.

that was the aircraft hanger... yes, it is disabled in the release... it is a subsection of the new launcher and there are problems with using it as the hanger in the sim at this time... when those problems are corrected, it will be re-enabled in the sim so you can change craft without having to exit and restart the whole thing...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
