You're running a decade old version and are actually wondering why it's not supported any more???

Or was this a rhetorical wondering?

It's like trying to use Windows 95 :) It's great for history and nostalgia but you can't expect everything to work given that it is indeed ten years old or more.

With a bit of git-fu, it should actually be possible to still retrieve some of the oldest aircraft - but it's not like we should expect the project to actually provide such downloads directly. There's the git repository, and meanwhile there's fgaddon, I believe that most aircraft can still be obtained that way. If in doubt, people could obviously get in touch with fgmembers, because they've been rather good at retrieving all sorts of resources out of the depths of the commit logs (for a variety of reasons obviously). So this may be one of those ocassions where their work may actually come in handy.
