FGMembers is veeeery active. Between regenerating the world scenery (multiple times), scenery development, plane aggregation and plane development, you can rest assured there's multiple people pushing updates every day.

http://opredflag.com is an active flightgear dogfighting community (using a system that isn’t bombable)
