Just a short note:
As requested by TorstenD, I've created a merge request on SourceForge with some presets for runway, comm and nav setup.

Cheers

What we have in terrasync...

WIP version...

Works better with our current apt.dat, doesn't spawn airliners in the GA parking, has pushback for most relevant gates, have tried to make the radius a better match for each gate.

Needs: Gate names, airline codes on gates, probably update to geometry if we're updating apt.dat from x-plane gateway.

Fyi, my new scenery build includes all layouts in the newest state (03/10/2016) from gateway.x-plane.com.
It now has all the landclasses as the surrounding areas and is building, will post screenshots soon.

The above and current terrasync groundnets are incorrect (checked with Bing and GE), the recommended X-Plane layout in WED has the correct parking/taxi positions.

Hey gooney, if by "the above" you mean my WIP in version, yeah, they're probably not exactly correct (hence the "probably update geometry if we're updating apt.dat" part). I did use GE coordinates for some of the positions as a baseline, but mostly it was based on "take the existing groundnet and tailor it for our current apt.dat and current static objects". Do you think I should drop this effort and we should make a new groundnet from the WED one? Or are you just saying that the positions aren't correct and needs updating? ... If we should generate a new one from the WED data, do you want to contribute that? I'm keen to make sure that the AI code works well with our next default airport, whether it comes from taxidraw or WED doesn't matter too much.

Unfortunately for various reasons I have not got the time to contribute to FG at the moment, I was just trying to to save you from doing a lot of work that would probably not be used.

I understand the the new layout will be based on the latest WED data so If you can get someone to convert the X-Plane groundnet to FG format it should not be to much of a problem to tidy that up in Taxidraw. The layout that appears in Taxidraw is inaccurate so that should be ignored.

You can convert the WED groundnet to the FG format using this script.
