You mean like add the Aero Commander to the wiki article for the table of aircraft? Anyone can register and add content to the wiki. Even you -- hint hint :)

Thanks -- Ray

Sure, just added it.

There was some concern ealier that only GPL-d models should be added to the Table of Models. Is this correct?

Yes, but the Aero Commander is GPL (the one in FGAddon at least) so that's no problem.

OK, so to close this:

1. How to find if it is GPL? I did not see it in the readme.

2.If it is non-GPL, what is the harm in placing it in the table and doing a review?

Is it that FG developers are a bit cheesed about non GPL models? :|

1. There's a COPYRIGHT file in the folder.
2. I think the original scope of the table of models was to only list aircraft in FGAddon (or fgdata back then). I've never been a big fan of the table though, so you may want to scan through its history for more details.

Alternative to table of contents?

Postby openflight » Fri Oct 30, 2015 11:19 am

Scanning history...

What is the alternative to the Table of Models?

Is this it: - by categories - I am willing to create a list of aircraft in a similar format any suggestions?

Could you elaborate on that? Do you mean like having a list per category? Unless there is more information per aircraft, I think the category pages does it "sort of ok". Also, be aware that some aircraft fit in more than one category (for example high wing, twin engine amphibious civil utility aircraft).

On the other hand the table of models in a bit unwieldy, and while I like the quick overview on for which FlightGear versions an aircraft have been available for, that information in particular is rather much hard work to compile (which probably is the reason that information is missing for version 3.2 and 3.4).

Also this kind of discussion is more suited to have on the wiki's village pump. ;)
