Let me quote the note at the top of the changelog:
This changelog is a draft.
This changelog is currently being written for the FlightGear v3.6 release.

The official changelog will be published on the website. And don't worry for missing the release, we'll announce it on all our channels ;-)

I'm guessing after reading the dev. mailing list that the release should be today or tomorrow

FlightGear 3.6?

Postby turtle » Tue Oct 13, 2015 2:30 am

I know there was a delay for the August release, but I wanted to make sure I had not bookmarked an old page. The normal release is still pending correct?

When will 3.6 be released?

Postby Spencer61 » Tue Oct 27, 2015 8:25 pm

Hi,
I've been looking forward to the release of FG 3.6 for quite a while, now. Has anyone any news on its release date? Currently using 3.4 and in desperation tried downloading 3.6 rc_1 but it crashes every time after setting up the initial position and aircraft. Gets as far as sub-systems then quits with an error report to send. Sent several and tried with/without terrasync activated but still no luck!

Hullo John
(Bonjour! Je non parlay Francais)
You are on Windows, so can you go to C:/Users/YourUsername/AppData/Roaming/ and delete flightgear.org?
This will delete all your user settings, but must be done when upgrading FlightGear.

@Spencer61 Also, it's important to report crashes and bugs with the RC! If no one else spot the problem you are currently experiencing, chances are it will still be in the stable version.

the last time crash reports were discussed on the devel list, it was made clear that they are not evaluated by anybody at all -so I would not hold my breath for bugs to be fixed based on just sending those reports.

There is a very clear bottleneck here, i.e. reporting/gathering bugs is one thing, but there is more required to actually get them fixed (see the crashrpt article on the wiki).

So, basically, it is like NASA giving Sheperd a parachute, to tell the media he had a personal means of escape if he needed it?
(Like, yeah, there is no oxygen in space so...)

as usual, it's a manpower/infrastructure issue - the idea is good, the implementation is lacking obviously

FlightGear 3.6 Estimated Release?

Postby turtle » Thu Nov 12, 2015 5:26 am

I have been checking the main website every day since the usual August release date. Is there any chance FlightGear 3.6 will be released this year? I get sad every time I see the 3.4 on the main website.

I know there has been some problems/delays, but I rather know now if it's going to be looking like next year.

Hi turtle,

You can download the 3.6. Release candidate from sourceforge.net and help testing it. In the Release-Candidate subforum you can post your feedback. This helps the developers finding and fixing bugs so that 3.6 can be released sooner.
