Can we have a dedicated ppa for Flightgear?

Postby AdityaPatil » Fri Mar 20, 2015 12:21 pm

While flightgear v3.4 has been released, the Ubuntu OS is still having v3.0 in its repositories.

I don't think it will be any soon that Ubuntu is updating it's version of flightgear. I guess there would be similar situation for many other distros as well.

So, why not have a ppa for Flightgear that would hold the latest updated version? :?:

Check here:

I use them on my Lubuntu LTS, you'll find git version too.

Thanks both of you. But that one isn't official, if I guess right. If we have a official one, it would be better as that would have more chances of getting timely updates and it would also be more trustworthy(like less chances of getting dependancy problems, and BTW official is official)

Why do you need an official repo? I wrote in that repo you'll find the stable versione 3.4 and the latest test git version 3.5. There aren't dependency issues, and the maintainer quickly compiles any newer version.
Just try it
