Taxiway data

In the process of creating the simulator, how did you get information regarding taxiways and thier length?

Was it simply copying maps, or is/was there a database on taxiway lengths. (I happen to be looking for information on Airport taxiway lengths, and haven't found any database for this information).

Welcome!

Most of our airport data comes from a database that's hosted by Robin Peel (for X-Plane) at: http://data.x-plane.com/get_data.html
Some of the airports in FlightGear have custom layouts, but you can count them on one hand.

Do note that there are some 20,000 airports in that database, of which most have just a very basic (generic) taxiway layout which doesn't match the real airport.

Cheers,
Gijs
