Suomea puhutaan?

Postby sgofferj » Sat Dec 10, 2011 8:00 pm

Hei,

kuka voi autaa? Yritän löydä hyvin iskulausen suomeksi FG:lle. Kun käännän suorasti, tulos kuulostaa vähän tyhmä.
Fly free - Lentäkää vapaasti
Born in freedom - Syntynyt vapaudessa

Kenelle on parempia ajatuksia?

who can help? I'm trying to find a good slogan for FG in Finnish.
If you translate directly, these sound kinda stupid.
Fly free - Lentäkää vapaasti
Born in freedom - Syntynyt vapaudessa

Who has better ideas?

Fly free should be: Lennä vapaasti

and born in freedom is correct.

This is a ~1 year old topic  .

"Lentäkää" is grammatically correct. It's the plural form ("te-muoto") which is considered more polite or formal. "Lennä" is imperative singular which is considered informal, more personal.
E.g. a salesperson in a shop would normally use the plural form when talking to a customer (unless, it's a shop which is frequented by mainly young customers).

And yes, it's indeed 1 year old and no, the slogans were not changed :).
