ATM "flightgear" search on twitter returns something like an invitation :-)

Just try: http://twitter.com/#!/search/flightgear

I find it funny how they continually insist that it's a game when there's a clear difference between a simulator and game.

Ya know... I've been thinking of looking up the whois information for flightgear.us and then sending a complaint to the registrar stating the domain is used for scamming - because it is.

EDIT: Lookie here, got the registrant info. Apparently the registrant lives in Tel Aviv, Israel - which makes the .us domain name illegal due to him (her?) not being a US citizen. Now if only Tucows made finding the complaint page easier to find...

If you send a complaint, make sure you include a link to and a (very short) summary of the FlightGear Flight Pro Sim Statement.

It's not illegal to own a country extension site code....

I'm french, living in france and i own a site in .IT (italy). You just have to give copy of your official Id document to the office managing internet in the country.
and from there you just don't have to break the country's policy of use.

Easy to counterstrike. Open up a real flightgear twitter account (which would be a good idea anyway) on which news from the FG community will be posted.
Ever once in a while (weekly, whatever,...) post a message like "Remember: FlightProSim is not FlightGear. Read the details here <link>" and there you go.

The .us domain is supposed to only available to legal US citizens, businesses in America or entities connected with America. AFAIK the registrant doesn't have any connection with the United States, thus making the domain illegal.

Yay. FPS did illegal stuff!
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

Despite having over 1700 posts here, I am not even close to being the most skilled guy here... I'm just words and bad drawing, not experience. :P
