--------
The remaining task is gluing the 'base package' tarball into the installers for Windows and Mac, so they form a complete, finished installer.

What about Linux users? Not all are geeks (anymore?).

I hope there will be some Slackware Package again...
Just because I am unable to compile OSG and therefore FlightGear itself.

When it comes out, what do you have to do? Will there be a link with a update? Or do you have to dowload the main program again...?

And what is going to be in the next update?

You'll have to do a complete new install for the program itself. But you can probably keep (most of) your scenery and additional aircraft downloads; as they are likely to work with 2.2 (altough there could/will be broken things). Also note that there will be a new aircraft download page at the website (with updated aircraft) and a new scenery version will be released (one day). So in the end you probably want to get rid of everything and start all over again...

When 2.2.0 is released, a versionlog will be published, will a highlight of the new features. A draft can be seen at http://www.mail-archive.com/flightgear- ... 30225.html

Too bad it won't be 100% compatible with already installed stuff...

No, the website is always updated. If it says "current release: 2.0" then that's the latest release. There is later snapshot releases on the forum however. Read them at the topic (you could have found yourself) below:

Will 2.2 work for Windows 7? I sure wouldn't want to lose FG!
