store link INOP on the FlightGear's website

Postby kg6rtr » Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:19 pm

After a number of years of inactivity, I tried today to access the store listed on the FlightGear website (click on "Visit Store" link)...and instead of the store front, I was "welcomed" by the following (almost empty) page:

Welcome to nginx!

If you see this page, the nginx web server is successfully installed and working. Further configuration is required.
For online documentation and support please refer to nginx.org.
Commercial support is available at nginx.com.

Thank you for using nginx.

I noticed the website connection is not secure, so I changed the link to read https://store.flightgear.org...and I was greeted by FlightGear's store front. Yay!!!
Question is: who should I notify about the broken link?

Hi, welcome back!

The store has been pulled, so don't yay too soon (see the https page):
For several reasons I am removing the FlightGear program stock from the FlightGear store and essentially shutting the doors for now

Thanks, my friend! I'm pretty sure they were objective motives. Hopefully, the store may be reopened some day.

Kind regards,

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

thank you! i didn't even look there...

FWIW: perhaps it should be above the italics? and maybe inside a red frame to help attract attention to it? if i've been to the store a few times and seen that each time, i would never think to scroll down further to see if there's new text down there... anyway, thanks again!
