How to use the new autopilot ?

Using the autopilot is an important thing when flying airliners.

How to use the new autopilot ?

Postby Carlos R » Mon Oct 17, 2016 3:55 pm

I'm using the last version of FlightGear (2016.3.1), and I don't know how does the autopilot work now. I tested more then 20 different models of aircrafts, more than 30 different airports, and I set a flight plan, but even though I activated the autopilot, it didn't follow the instructions I've set on the flight plan. And it seems that nothing is working (the LNAV button, HOLD altitude, HOLD speed), inclusive when I try to do an ILS landing, the LOC and APP button didn't work, too. I don't know what to do ....
Hope someone can help me.

You will need to check to documentation for each aurcraft, as the operation of the autopilot can differ quite much between different aircraft. Some aircrsft does not even use the dialog.

Often you can find some documentation under the aircraft's help menu or on FlightGear's wiki.
