VNAV / Route manager 777-200

Postby Clive2670 » Tue Jul 26, 2016 7:23 pm

Hi all, Can anyone help? How can I get the Autopilot to follow FL set into the route manager at various waypoints / fixes on a flight as when I push the button all it does is VNAV speed only not flight levels, FYI I did have it work the other day but for the life of me cannot remember the procedure that worked!!! Many thanks Clive

VNAV SPD will make the AP follow the route manager... at least, it is supposed to! Usually works for me.

I still cannot get it to climb or descend to flight levels that I have set into route manager at specified fixes or waypoints just shows in display either VNAV PTH or VNAV SPD

Well, that means that VNAV is active.
Is the route manager activated, and is LNAV on?

Which 777 are you using? The one from FlightGear 3.4, or the newest development one?

LNAV/VNAV won't activate without Activating the Route Manager.

Make sure the MCP knob is set to a lower altitude. It will then descend with VNAV until it hits the altitude set in the MCP.

Yes route manager is active, and i'm using the 777 "supplied" with the official FG Hangar in 2016.2.1. MCP Knob? please help on that one as you've lost me! "master Control panel" I guess....the altitude knob for climbing or descending? thanks Clive

yes route manager active (first thing I always do after setting correct pressure for altimeter by METAR) and yes LNAV is switched on as soon as I can and it follows my flightplan (waypoints/fixes) so all works fine on that score

I meant the altitude select knob in the AP panel.
