I'm getting ready to start working on the Boeing 752, one of my favorite aircraft. At the advice of isix, I am working off of the really old version by jonbourg, Liam, and friends rather than the latest version by isix and Vinicius (which had some inaccurate dimensions and a ridiculously oversized tailcone).

I am amazed at the model, good quality! It's one of FG's forgotten works I guess. :(

Development updates are coming soon, as usual. ;)
EDIT: I need to know, how accurate is the JSBSim FDM included with this aircraft? I am considering replacing it with the YASim FDM if it was built using Aeromatic and not fine-tuned.

Currently most of the work has been cleaning up the code, making tiny tweaks to the model, etc., so I really have nothing to show for now. I am probably going to replace the JSBSim FDM since it seems to have some issues.

I've got the YASim FDM written and it seems to work fairly well; however, you know a lot more about YASim than I do. I'll of course drop you some questions if I run into any problems. ;)

Skyop, here the download URL to my last evolution to the Liam et al 757-200. Feel free to change what you want ;) Good luck with this great plane. There are FDM YASim with erros, but alot references. FDM JSBSim have references to all data. Two engine versions avalible in JBSim (Rols Royce and P&W).

Thanks isix, the 3d cockpit is a fantastic start! :D

I've also grabbed the "blank" liveries you made; they'll be a big help to future livery makers (I'm hoping the 752 will enjoy a larger livery base than the CRJ900 ;) ).

Anyway, pushback added; I'll have the wheels animated and perhaps an alpha version ready tomorrow.

Are you going to include a hole in the side of the plane by the door in the model?

Icelandair would also be a good livery.

Okay, quick alpha release. If you want an aircraft that "just works," then please use isix's version. This release is primarily for testing my new FDM; it is missing some features from isix's release like lights and sounds. (Yeah, seriously, sounds are broken until I replace the sound file. :lol: )

The elevators need to be more powerful, as rotating at takeoff and reaching 20 degree pitch is impossible. However, the wings seem to have too much lift; the nose can pitch up quite easily at 60-90 knots like the 777. This FDM is just a mess. :?

The approach-I don't think it'll be going along at 120 KIAS with a .5 angle. That's like the 777! That at 140 KIAS would probably be more realistic.

Add .1 to elevator lift-1.5 goes to 1.6 could help with elevator effectiveness. I usually put a front-to-rear ballast at the back and have it negative instead of a positive at the front, but it probably doesn't matter.

Your tips helped. Now to solve the early rotaton problem (I've found that the nose can pitch up quite easily at 80 KIAS with flaps at 2 notches; but you can't get into the air, so that's good):

Before I took it out for a test spin, I had to change the file names in cockpit.xml to use 757-200 instead of 757 as the master folder. I'll be back with results soon.

EDIT: Also getting large amount of instrument texture errors based in 737-300 folder. They appear 2D panel related.

EDIT 2: Nasal errors in ReserveD View index 7 and a probably related dynamic-view.nas thing. And didn't seem to be able to get the thing moving with full throttle.

Also change the model names in the panel location indexes, as those didn't work either.
