Ok, I've been working on the interior the most recently, and I wanted to know, how would I make the gun cameras actually work? I want the screens in the Battle Management station to actually show a video feed of where each gun is aimed, is this possible?

Here is a picture of what I'd like:

I'm going to search the wiki for any info on displays, but I can assure it's possible. There is another aircraft that has an extremely close feature to this, but I am yet to understand how it operates.

I forgot what aircraft (A-6, B1-B or F-14), but that one just has a fake display, which works like an artifical horizon. It doesn't show what you see ;)
At the moment it is impossible to place a camera-view inside a panel. It would require a source change to do so...

ouch! That's really going to impact the outcome of the aircraft. You're sure that a nasal script couldn't be constructed that get's the conditions from an x, y, and z coordinated view and places it on an object(panel, screen, etc.)?

Render to texture is the feature you will need to have the problem solved perfectly. It doesn't seem too hard to implement but probably someone with good knowledge of the FG code should do this.

That would be perfect, yet I have no knowledge of OSG. Hopefully somebody with a good understanding of the flightgear code will kindly volunteer, and I will gladly supply them with the current AC-130 data.

The OSG-part is not the problem. Everything one needs to know therefore is written in the tutorial I posted. The problem is that the tutorial just shows us how to map this hardcoded texture to a hardcoded polygon. WE need to be able to set the texture resolution and the object it will be displayed on later via xml (or from the property tree so one can change it). Of course we would already be happy if one just could specify the position, dimension and orientation of the polygon that will hold the texture later and the viewport that will be rendered.

Very nice liveries gooney! I can't wait to see them on the AC-130. :) If all goes well, I'll have a release for the AC-130 later today, I just need to animate a few panels, and texture some parts of the Battle Management Station.

EDIT: Hey gooney, would you be able to provide all the inkscape/gimp(either is fine) files for all your liveries? I wouldn't mind using the camo you drew to make a few Nam and United States Air Force Special Operations liveries.

Ive just sent the liveries to helijah so they should be available within the next couple of days.

I'll sort out an Inkscape file for you sometime, as it's done in Inkscape it will be easier for me to do and better quality than an .xcf.
There is over 25 layers at the moment so I'll have to break that down to a more manageable level and give them more helpful names.
