Literally google images. Was not that the first thing you tried? I usually use that or airliners.net

Either it tries to lift its nose when running down at 80kts or if i manage to counter that with more ballast, it looses its climb rate.il's 4 engines total thrust seems way lower than total thrust of 777. It somehow survives because it tends to have better lift properties on the wings....

The combined thrust of the IL's four engines is around 150,000lb's I think, while the 777's two engines combined are just over 180,000. So there's about a 20% difference.

But you probably already knew this.

Conversely the 777 is about 15% heavier so it should all work out with some tweaking.

The FDM seems much more stable now....
Wanted to try at least a 5 hour test (non stop flight), but FG nowadays tends to heat up my HDD and crashes the entire system as and when it likes....

In the mean time, here are some External shots (External lights have not been done up yet....)

The model could use a bit of smoothing.

Those are Il-96-300s, not the Il-96-400.

Still, I would like to be able to ride on the Il-96 someday. I heard that Aeroflot uses them on the New York-Moscow route. Maybe if I go down to New York one day to go to Russia...

That's what i planned for...but i guess i better hold the idea for some time...

My Ubuntu 9.10 tends to crash (the entire system) once every 10-20 minutes(mostly when on Multiplayer mode) when i am on FG even though i am not using pulseaudio....it's kinda irritating.... Suspecting that FG kinda overheats my VGA card,,,,and i have re-downloaded and recompiled FG twice, same results

Probably i shall slow down a bit and see if there are any fixes (hopefully), else i should avoid FG till some better solutions are out there....so expect slow (if not NIL) developments after this.....

Will catch up with you soon....

cheers!

Ubuntu Vs FG...what shall i choose?..............

I use alsa, as pulseaudio needs to be fixed for Ubuntu, but on 10.04 they will use alsa anyway, ;)
It crashes for me, because of urban effect. When disabled i can stay hours, but enabled only 10-20 minutes, and ends with "cannot allocate memory".
FG heats VGA too, from 44 to 54 degree. One thing that helped was cleaning dust inside case, and use 195.36.15 nvidia driver.
System specs:
AMD Ahtlon 64 X2 Dual Core 2.2 GHz, ASUS M2N4-SLI,3 GB DDR2 800 MHz
Nvidia GT240 1GB 1440x900, 25-30 fps

Hi Canseco....

Thanks for the reply...
I am trying not to make this into a technical glitch/support thread....so here is my quick reply

1)I have disabled most effect (3d clouds/AI etc etc)
2)I use Nvidia 195.36 driver too
3)It is a laptop,so i guess i can only clean some external surfaces
4)I can fly longer when i am not using multiplayer and still it crashes. At least this time, it does not crash the entire system and reboot. Instead FG exits with some keyboard binding error from some nasal files found at FG root.....

If you have any solutions/workarounds please PM me...

Thank you

:)
