Here's the startup procedure:
1. APU master switch ON (see Scott's picture above)
2. Wait a few seconds for the APU to spool up
3. Engine ignition switch START (see Scott's picture above)
4. Engine cutoff switches RUN (they're on the pedestal)

Hi everybody, I didn't want to make a new thread for this little thing. I made about half a year ago cockpit for omega95's upcoming a380 project. The project seems to be at least frozen. So, I decided to share this cockpit for you, maybe someone wants to make this work in FG. Good luck!

It's completely...totally..woow.

Thanks ...but what's the FPS with this cockpit?

I will be disappointed if this new cockpit kills the frame rate.

I've got 60fps shadows disabled, 50fps with shadows. I've got GTX 680, though. So if you haven't bought a new computer, you won't be able to run this, sorry.

Absolutely outstanding !
Has the Fdm been updated ? Cauz I have much problem with the reactions of this aircraft : at -500 ft/min, speedbrakes used, flaps full, gear down, the aircrafts doesn't slow down. In addition, on the ground, even with autobrakes to max, nothing brakes...
Do you have this also ? Is that corrected ?

Anyway thank you for your contributions, I'll try that tomorrow, though I'm pretty sure about the bad FPS I'll get with my little 9600gt...But it's nice to see that FG requires more power, that's a proof of quality, I must say. :? (I'm very eye-candy  )

Thx for sharing

--- EDIT ---
I don't really understand. You post the ac files, but no xml. However you post screenshots in FG. Can you post the flightdeck.xml (or any other file) also?
I think that you added it to FG, but it's not functionnal isn't it?

Emm... it is nothing but ac file itself, I haven't made any animations. I wanted to preview the cockpit in FG so I just replaced 787's flightdeck.ac with this. :/ This doesn't even fit straight to current A380. I made it fit to omega's upcoming release :(

So this cockpit needs more or less work but I'm working on my other projects and school currently. I don't have time for this.

Wait, so that a complete model ? With exterior + interior in the same file ?
Is that project stopped for Omega ? :(
Anyway thank you !

Unfortunately, I don't have much time to do anything in FlightGear these days - but I must say, you did an amazing job on the cockpit. Maybe working on this project a little bit every now and then can eventually get it finished. We could also assign tasks to different FG pilots/developers and see how that goes.

Scott has done a great job with a lot of the aircraft systems and flight management - so we could use a lot from the other A380. I guess the first task is to complete the rest of the model. Does anyone *cough* jormapaappa1235 *cough* want to do that so I can work on the FDM and flight control systems for now?

Again, I will not be able to develop as quick as I used to before because I'm currently in the middle of my classes, running my company and on a summer abroad program.

Hi Omega,
I'm a complete noob in aircraft developpement, so I'll not be able to help. :(
However, it would be nice if you could improve the FDM, and if possible, the model.
Just take your time, there are no problems if it's quality...

Anyway will be amazed to see a better A380 in FG !
Thanks in advance

John, why wouldn't you learn Blender? :) This cockpit was made about half a year ago after having practised for a half year. So modeling can be learned quite fast.
Omega, I'm afraid I don't have time either. I'll be very busy for a week because of my school. + I have already two projects under work, Audi TT 1999 for Assetto Corsa racing game and MD-11 for FG. I don't want to start any new project before those are ready :(

This is the quality after about a year :D

Hi Omerga,

I would definitely volunteer my Nasal skills if they could be of assistance, but I don't know what my schedule will look like, and I have a few other things to clean off of my slate first. But I'd be willing to help as much as I can if you have a job for me :).

P.S. Any moving map you need... that's already done, see http://wiki.flightgear.org/Canvas_MapStructure

I should, yeah. However I had a lot of problems with textures. In addition, watching 8 hours of tutorials is not so exciting...

I'll try, cauz I'd like to develop, to help FG. I feel ashamed when I use aircrafts which took hours and hours of developpement without having done anything. :?

Anyway thank your for this encouragement.

We will of course try lure you into contributing with whatever skills you have and try push you into acquiring more skills just for the joy of seeing develop (both FG and yourself), but do not feel ashamed because you have contributed less than others. No matter how much you have done and will do in some aspects, someone else will always have done more in other aspects. :D

Key thing is that if you feel it would be fun to for example have done your own model, go for it. It will take time and patience and more than a bit of trial and error, but it will most probably feel great when done. :D
