CAD models??

Postby somt1033 » Wed Oct 10, 2007 1:04 pm

Hi everybody,
i am new to this forum and also to flightgear.
I currently writing my Bachelor Thesis about simulation and control of an unmanned aerial testbed. The testbed is a scaled down (1/2) Super Dimona from Diamond Aircraft from which i created a CAD model in Solidedge.
The purpose of this was to have a good estimation of mass properties.
But since i already have this model i wonder if i can also use it in flight gear for visualisation? I use Aerosim which is a Blockset for Matlab and is compatible with flightgear.

If the format is available, you could try exporting the model to STEP. Then, download a trial version of AC3D, import the step model, and re-export the model as ac3d format.
