@chad: Take your time! Already fantastic work!

@Eagle: You might have noticed, that the two-step ladder comes up with the gear.

For the instruments it would be nice to have a database on the wiki to avoid double-work.

Yeah, but I couldn't figure out where the well / recess for it is located exactly (and thus the axis around which it rotates) - so rather chose to animate that later - I mean, having fuel to feed to the engines is more important than retracting a small ladder ! ;) But thanks for bringing it up.

Kind of a good idea … but on the other hand, except for the usual (common) instruments, each aircraft more or less has it's own anyways … but yeah @chad, you'd probably start on the engine gauges, and we'll keep the others for later.

@TheEagle You can kind of make out the entry step retraction location on the Sky King intro. That's a youtube link showing the plane roll and show its belly.

By the way, here are two full-length episodes of "Sky King":

I loved every inch minute of it ! :) sadly the first of the two episodes was filmed before the invention of the Cessna 310, so "Sky" King is flying some other aircraft … :(

Alright, @chad, you are responsible for that I didn't do any work on the 310 today (except for some still local Nasal dialog work) - Sky king is addicting !

Sky King's first aircraft was a Cessna T50.

@TheEagle Submitted for your approval: A 310 fuel gauge. Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xr86y00tsbgq2 ... l.zip?dl=0
From the horizontal center-line the "empty" position is -45 degrees, and "full" is + 45 degrees. (total of 90 degrees total travel).

@merspieler: yeah, with auxiliary tanks installed you have even 130 gallons capacity - but I mean, it's also got 480 horsepowers on board ! ;)
@chad: nice, will check it out right away ! :)

Did you draw the texture completely yourself ? If not, where did you get it from ?

Looks already very nice! Classic touch.

Do we have aux tanks on board?

Seeing some numbers here, it might be a god idea to keep the C310P as a selectable option, as it is considerable more stable around roll and yaw axis. Although we don't have a visual model (yet), our pilots would certainly appreciate it.

I used a photo from a aircraft salvage site. That said, the only part that keeps the original photo is the mounting ring, which even that has been highly modified. The face, needles, needle covers, and text, etc are all homemade.

Alright, I guess that won't be a problem. But nicely done, for your first instrument ! :) Just a few small things:
  • Don't texture uniformly colored objects, especially not glass - to achieve transparent objects, please use a transparent material instead
  • Don't put things in the texture that are neither modelled nor would be visible - I'm referring to the mounting points around the gauge itself, which are hidden by the panel.

What I usually do is to only texture the face - it might be a good idea to also texture the case in case we need to do any lightmapping - but then, just make a uniformly colored circle, because including lit-up edges in the texture gives 1) wrong appearance when rendered with any additional light (sun, overhead, etc.) and 2) produces this texture bug:
