Another newcomer :)

Hello to you.

After studying it is not useful for me to write on the Wiki page provided for this purpose because I place my models in the FGaddon Trunk which is not compatible with the stable version of FG.
It is therefore more dimple and logical to make my announcements here!

Here is the last model to date. A model from Aero Commander but built under license in Israel.

2.Fmc/GPS and weather radar implementation
3.animated throttle quadrant
4.Cabin&cockpit retexture to make it real
5.Working overheard panel

Here's the thing: Helijah's aircraft are WYsIWyG, and are released as something for budding aircraft 3D and texture artists and programmers to tinker with.

Here your chance to shine and make a well developed aircraft.

Thats right. Emmanuel is a very good 3d modeller and he greate good outside models with low vertex count.
His focus is the outside, not so much the inside model or cockpit.
I dont know if the instruments original in this aircraft, but you can copy it from the Citation II.
Some instruments (ADI, HSI, altimeter, radios) are the same and i have remodelled it.
But be aware, i use many filters on the Citation II to simulate the mechanical motion of all needles.

Thx Lesert-Boffo and WoodStokk.

Indeed I do not have the habit of providing finished models. This is also the magic of open source. We are here to share, not to offer turnkey. Not to mention the fact that I would never pretend to finish a model. Those who can believe themselves perfect in all areas, to the point of believing they have finished a model, have no interest lol

That said, I based myself on this photo of the Westwind II panel. And even if since I improved some missing instruments, they will be added quickly.

Without wanting to be unpleasant, instruments in bulk in the same folder, xml without header, textures of opaque objects saved in 32 bit....etc... everything you need to obtain display faults and rendering problems... Personally, I wouldn't recommend the Citation II instruments. Sorry.

It is however simple. EVERY xml MUST have a first header line!

Opaque object textures MUST be saved in 24 bit to not contain an ALPHA channel.

Objects with transparent textures MUST be separated from objects with opaque textures so as not to have opaque objects with 32-bit textures.

I took over the developement of the Citation II in this state and i'm far away of a finished product.
Maybe i change the file hierarchy in the future, but now it is as it is.
If someone copy instruments from the Citation II, he/she can put it in separate directories.

My main computer is currently out of order. If it works again, i will check all XML files for the header line.
Currently, i cant remember of any instrument with transparent textures. I will check it and delete all unused alpha channels.
But thats a simple work, every developer that copy a part can do that.

@WoodStokk: For the header, use this script - it will automatically put a header in every XML file that doesn't have one, recursively from the working directory or it's first argument:
Code: Select all
#!/usr/bin/env python
#-*- coding:utf-8 -*-

import os, sys

path = os.getcwd()
if len(sys.argv) > 1:
    path = sys.argv[1]

for root, dirs, files in os.walk(sys.argv):
    for file in files:
        with open(os.path.join(root, file), "rw") as f:
           lines = f.readlines()
           if not lines[0].startswith("<?xml"):
               lines.insert(0, '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>')
           f.seek(0)
           f.writelines(lines)
[/quite]
(Disclaimer - the above script is NOT TESTED but should work - but there is NO WARRANTY for ANY corrupted / lost files - I only recommend trying this when git status shows nothing ! ;) )
